Major verse alert! DJ Khaled is teasing a special Eminem cypher during tonight’s BET Hip-Hop Awards.
Hinting at the surprise the way he’s done with collaborations, the super-producer/host confirmed the news on social media. “Tonight, Eminem’s Back” reads a video of a previous Slim Shady cypher.
“Fan luv !!!!! Did the @eminem freestyle verse come in yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” he wrote. “BE READY!! Tune in tonight !!”

Prior to that, Khaled had been teasing the “major verse” online. “#FANLUV! I got a MAJOR surprise for you tomorrow at the @bet @hiphopawards,” he wrote. “ #MAJORVERSEALERT.”
It is unclear whether Eminem will appear alone or in a group cypher, but he isn’t a stranger to the format. In 2009, he rhymed alongside Mos Def and Black Thought in a cypher. Then, he returned for a Shady Records cypher in 2011, rapping beside Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse.
Em appears to be gearing up for a new album, his first since 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Following rumors that the project was “done,” the Detroit spitter’s eighth album is reportedly set to arrive Nov. 17.
In September, Khaled told Rap-Up about his plans to collaborate with Eminem. “I reached out to his camp before, but I haven’t really reached out with the record,” he said. “I started the conversations. So now I feel like when I get the right record, I’m going to present it to him.”
